HCA works with other nonprofits and funders to serve in various capacities that best leverage resources and learning for success. We are technical advisors on mortgage lending, partnership builders, and project managers for the teams we serve on.
HCA worked with a major national investor to successfully implement an innovative new Down Payment Assistance loan product with nonprofit and mortgage lending partners covering more than 30 states.
This innovative project provides small-dollar mortgages for low-to-moderate income homebuyers. It was launched as a pilot in 2019 with the support of Access Ventures. MMM’s design is based on research by the Urban Institute. Fahe is implementing the loans. HCA serves as technical advisors and contributors to the project.
The New York Times recently featured a story about small-dollar mortgages and their impact on access to credit. The article features our partners, Fahe and Urban Institute along with a Realtor partner and homebuyer.
HCA works with the NeighborWorks Solutions Group as Subject Matter Experts. We provide facilitation and coaching to lead CDFIs through the successful buildout of a nonprofit Third-Party Origination (TPO) lending network.
Our team brings decades of experience in CRA lending, community lending initiatives, specialty affordable products, and credit delivery to underserved communities. We can add value to your Bank or Credit Union's community lending goals.

HCA works with the Mortgage Bankers Association serving on a task force for the Residential Board of Governors. This MBA task force is seeking to explore and promote small-dollar lending in the mortgage banking industry. We also serve on the Consumer Affairs Advisory Council for MBA and other ad-hoc committees.
