Primary responsibilities include in-depth pre-funding and post-funding quality assurance audit on each loan file. The position requires extensive experience in underwriting and guideline knowledge of both conventional and government loans. Loan fraud detection is required. The Underwriter is expected to make loan level risk analysis and recognize issues that could cause loans to be repurchased or be in violation of any lending laws. Ability to underwrite higher-complexity loan files including down payment and multi-layered loans. Works closely with the VP, Lending Services.
